Manchester Triage System in the largest Slovenian emergency surgical unit

The number of patients visiting the emergency unit can not be predicted, so patients who are waiting in the ER are sorted regarding to their condition – Manchester Triage System is used to triage patients in Slovenia, as it was recognized as good triage tool for adult and pediatric population. University Medical Centre of Ljubljana is the largest medical centre in Slovenia and almost 80 000 patients visit the Emergency Surgical Unit in this hospital annually. Queue monitoring is running via computerised system and enables statistical processing of data in connection with waiting time.
